configuration of the RoboMon
Web Interface. |
 |
| Full
Description |
System
Requirements
| 1. |
RoboMon 7.6B or later. View the ReadMe
file in your RoboMon installation directory
for system requirements for RoboMon. |
| 2. |
Windows NT® 4.0, Terminal Server Edition,
or Windows® 2000 Server/Advanced Server with
Terminal Services enabled, and running in
Application Server mode. |
| 3. |
IIS 4.0 or later. |
| 4. |
Must use Internet Explorer 4.0 or later
as the remote client (browser). |
Installation
| 1. |
To initiate the installation, browse to
the directory the RoboMon Web Interface setup
kit was downloaded and extracted to, or the
robomon\Web_UI directory on the RoboMon CD,
and run setup.exe. For Windows 2000 Terminal
Services, you will need to install the product
through Add/Remove Programs. |
| 2. |
If RoboMon is installed to a directory
other than the default of "C:\Program Files\RoboMon",
a minor change will have to be made to one
of the ASP pages. Open the file "ManagementSuite.asp" (which
can be found under the IIS install directory\wwwroot\RoboMonWebInterface\)
in any text editor. The seventh line of the
file will read InstallPath = "C:\Program
Files\RoboMon". Edit "C:\Program Files\RoboMon" to
match your RoboMon installation directory.
For example, if you installed RoboMon to
D:\RoboMon, edit this line to read InstallPath
= "D:\RoboMon". Also, the 46th line down
reads: MsTsc.SecuredSettings.StartProgram
= "C:\Program Files\RoboMon\bin\" & "",
please change "C:\Program Files\RoboMon\bin\" to
the path to your \bin directory. |
Access
| 1. |
To access the RoboMon Web Interface, point
your browser to http://[SERVER]/RoboMonWebInterface/,
where [SERVER] is the fully qualified DNS
name of the IIS server. |
| 2. |
The first time the application is accessed
from a client machine, the user will be required
to download and install the Terminal Services
ActiveX Control, which is digitally signed
by Microsoft. This download and installation
process requires very little time, depending
on your connection speed. |
| 3. |
The links on the main page will allow the
user access only to RoboMon interfaces. Exiting
out of the interface will return the user
to the main page. |
Configuration
| 1. |
Users will be required to provide an NT login accepted by the
terminal server to access the RoboMon Web Interface. |
| 2. |
Security rules for the RoboMon product apply to the web interface. |
| 3. |
The "Select browser window size" dropdown on the default web
page controls the size of the browser window for the RoboMon
Web Interface, as well as the size of the Terminal Server window
within the browser window. The sizes are based on a percentage
of the available screen size, excluding the taskbar. |
