Real Time SLA Dashboard Boosts
Interest in Agentless Performance Monitoring
Newton, MA
- January 25, 2006– Heroix, a leading provider
of application performance monitoring software,
today announced a 20% revenue increase from Q3
to Q4. The uptick in sales comes on the heels
of a November announcement that included support
for Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring in
its Longitude® software for application and
system performance monitoring and reporting. Longitude’s
service level monitoring features include user-defined
service conditions, a real time service level
dashboard, and historical service level reporting
and graphing. |
| The new release
has
been recognized by Service Level Management
(SLM) expert Enterprise Management Associates
for its strong reporting, “… particularly
with the SLA dashboard, and in ease-of-use. Longitude’s
agentless technology enables companies to quickly
install and implement automated performance monitoring.”
In addition, EMA cited Longitude’s ability
to account for Service Level Agreements that may
depend on multiple resources working together.
For example, if a business service depends on
a web-based front end running on Windows, a J2EE
application server, and a back-end database running
on Unix, Longitude can recognize that a problem
in any one area may compromise SLA compliance.
Organizations as diverse as
a leading manufacturer of power conversion components,
a premier health care clinic, and a New York state
agency all agreed on the value of monitoring multi-tiered
applications in a more integrated fashion. Whether
a company has formal Service Level Agreements
or simply wants to deliver a high level of IT
service, Longitude allows them to define what
constitutes a healthy application and then watch
that application and all its components. For example,
a traditional monitoring rule might recognize
a problem if the CPU is too busy; however, Longitude
could also recognize a situation where the CPU
is not busy enough because a critical process
has failed. Furthermore, it can do this across
platforms and without the need to install monitoring
agents on any monitored systems.
“Traditionally, monitoring
has focused on discreet application components,
or at best, has grouped events together into aggregated
views,” said Heroix Founder and CEO Howard
Reisman. “Longitude delves deeper by linking
multiple service conditions to application health.”
