Mass Technology Leadership Council Awards Recognize
Outstanding Technology Development, Implementation and Leadership
Newton, MA
- July 12, 2006 – Heroix, a leading provider
of application performance monitoring software,
today announced that it has been named as a finalist
for the Mass Technology Leadership Council’s
2006 Mass Technology Leadership Awards. Heroix
and other finalists were named at an event held
at the British Consulate on June 28.
The only awards program to recognize outstanding
achievement in both the development and implementation
of information technology, the Mass Technology
Leadership Awards honor Massachusetts companies
and individuals who best exemplify leadership
and excellence in business and technology. The
awards program builds on the traditions of the
Massachusetts Software Council and the New England
Business and Technology Association (NEBATA),
the two organizations that merged last year to
form the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.
The company’s flagship agentless monitoring
software, Longitude, enables IT organizations
to improve performance and monitor Service Level
Agreements (SLAs), without requiring software
to be installed on each server. Longitude V3,
which was announced in April, has been hailed
by industry analyst Enterprise Management Associates
(EMA) for its use of open source technologies;
analyst Jasmine Noel of Ptak, Noel & Associates
cited Heroix’s achievement in “adding
sophisticated features without making the solution
more difficult to use."
“Heroix is delighted to be named a finalist
for the Technology Leadership Awards,” said
Heroix CEO and Founder Howard Reisman. “When
we set out to design Longitude as an agentless
monitoring product, we made a conscious decision
to build it from scratch, with the latest technologies,
rather than retrofitting an existing agent-based
product, and this nomination validates that decision.”
“The Mass Technology Leadership Council
is committed to fostering entrepreneurship and
promoting the success of companies that develop
and deploy technology across industry sectors.
These awards are an important part of this effort,”
said Joyce Plotkin, president of the Mass Technology
Leadership Council. “The finalists for this
year’s honors represent the spirit of innovation,
the history of accomplishment and the future promise
that define the Massachusetts technology community.”
Winners of the awards will be announced on October
11, at an Awards Banquet to be held at the Boston
Marriott Copley Place Hotel on Wednesday, October
11. The Banquet will also feature a keynote address
by Bruce Chizen, CEO of Adobe.
Pricing and Availability
Longitude V3 is available now. Pricing for basic
OS monitoring starts at $299 per monitored system.
Heroix offers a 14-day
free trial.
