| Heroix Longitude Nominated for Mass Technology Leadership Awards
Application performance and network monitoring capabilities noteworthy
Newton, MA –
June 5, 2007 – Heroix, a leading provider
of agentless, multiplatform application performance
and network monitoring software, today announced
that it has been nominated for Technology Developer
Company of the Year as part of the 2007 Mass Technology
Leadership Awards. The company’s flagship
agentless monitoring software, Longitude, enables
IT organizations to improve performance and monitor
service level agreements (SLAs), without requiring
software to be installed on each server. Longitude
was first released in May of 2005 and has had
three major releases since that
time.
Heroix’s dedication to creating superior
application performance and network monitoring
products – and continually meeting the changing
needs of its clients – is what led to the
award nomination. 2006 was a particularly noteworthy
year for Longitude with the introduction of two
major software releases.
In April, V3 was released to measure the business
impact of technology performance problems. This
enables IT teams to focus on what matters most
to their organization: effective management of
critical application performance with minimal
effort and lower costs. Specifically, Longitude
V3 expanded its service level agreement reporting
and added event correlation for root cause analysis,
baseline workload data for threshold adjustment,
scalable notifications and corrective actions,
and expanded monitoring coverage.
Then in December, Heroix took Longitude further
with its release of V4 which offers immediate
troubleshooting, faster time-to-resolution, and
increased uptime. This helps companies achieve
top business performance without overly burdening
lean IT staff. More specifically, Heroix added
a real time statistics dashboard, and expanded
its network monitoring coverage to any SNMP-based
devices via an intuitive graphical studio. V4
also added consolidation of Windows Event logs,
as well as a new archived report portal which
enables IT organizations to publish reports for
viewing by business managers and other non-IT
stakeholders.
Furthermore, each update was seamlessly integrated
into the product to allow customers to reap the
benefits without lengthy product configuration
or training.
“Heroix is pleased to be nominated for
the Mass Technology Leadership Awards again this
year,” said Heroix President Rick Lane.
“Our ability to grow to meet the emerging
needs of our customers with each release of our
product fulfills the Mass Technology Leadership
Council’s goal of fostering entrepreneurship
and promoting the success of companies that develop
and deploy technology across industry sectors.”
The 2007 Mass Technology Leadership Awards continue
a ten-year tradition, begun by the New England
Business and Technology Association (NEBATA),
of honoring the region's technology and business
leaders. The Mass Technology Leadership Council
was formed by the combination of NEBATA and the
Mass Software Council. Finalists for the award
are expected to be announced in July, and winners
will be named on October 18, 2007.
