How
to install this service pack in non-cluster-aware
situations: |
| 1. |
Download
the SP5_eQ30.exe file into the top-level
Heroix eQ folder (e.g., C:\Program files\Heroix\eQ\). |
| 2. |
Delete
any other files (do not delete folders)
from the top-level Heroix eQ folder where
you saved the service pack. |
3.
|
Close
all Heroix eQ Programs (Windows Console
and Web Interface). |
| 4. |
Within Windows
Explorer, doubleclick the file to install
it. |

How
to install this service pack when the
Web UI is installed as cluster-aware: |
| 1. |
Download
the SP5_eQ30.exe file into the top-level
Heroix eQ folder (e.g., C:\Program files\Heroix\eQ\)
on both nodes. |
| 2. |
Delete
any other files (do not delete folders)
from the top-level Heroix eQ folder where
you saved the service pack. |
3.
|
Close
all Heroix eQ Programs (Windows Console
and Web Interface). |
| 4. |
Take the Heroix
eQ cluster resources offline. |
| 5. |
Apply the service
pack to the node that owns the group with
the Heroix resources, by doubleclicking
the file. |
| 6. |
Move the cluster
group that include the Heroix resources
over to the other node, take the Heroix
eQ cluster resources offline, and apply
the service pack (by double-clicking SP5_eQ30.exe)
on that node while it owns the group.
Note: this will cause all of the cluster
resources within the same group to go
temporarily offline, while they are moved
to the other node. |

After
you have applied the service pack, bring
the Heroix eQ resources back online. |
Heroix eQ V3.0 Service
Pack 5 (SP5) provides new and enhanced functionality
in the following areas:
Line of Business Global
Views
The new Global View feature provides support
for multiple levels of groupings in the Heroix
eQ event monitor. This enables you to group
selected lines of business together under a
single Global View icon within the event monitor.
You can then drill down to line of business,
and then to events within each line of business.
Web Portal for Reports
and Graphs
The new Web Portal provides easy web-based access
to reports and graphs that have been created
in batch. Reports and graphs are grouped by
topic (e.g., CPU, memory, disk) and presented
in an icon-based display that provides single-click
access to graphical and tabular data. The Web
Portal may be used to publish data to users
who should not have access to the Heroix eQ
Web Interface.
NOTE: The new Global
View and Web Portal tasks have been added to
the definition of the Heroix eQ Admin security
profile. If individuals with this security profile
have configured their personal preferences to
Heroix eQ, they will need to update their preferences,
and select these tasks, in order to access them
from the Heroix eQ Web Interface menuing system.
Common Reports and Graphs
The new Common Reports feature identifies 36
of the most commonly used graphs and presents
them for easy use and batch scheduling.
Enhancements
The web interface has been enhanced to use larger
icons in the event monitor, and also to allow
graphs to be resized. The service pack also
includes several miscellaneous fixes and optimizations.
Applying SP5
This service pack should be applied only
to Servers running the Web Interface (i.e.,
Web Interface install was initially performed).
This service pack should not be applied
to servers that run only the Windows Management
Console, or to agents.
SP5 is cumulative, and
includes all updates from SP1 through SP4A.
If you have already applied an earlier service
pack, you should apply SP5. If you have not
applied any service pack, apply only SP5.
NOTE: When you install
the service pack, it will automatically execute
an IIS reset operation.
NOTE: If you have
previously installed SP3, SP4, or SP4A, or if
you install SP5 more than once, you may receive
an error message similar to the following:
Run-time error ‘-2147217900
(80040e14)’:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]There
is already an index on table
‘LocalEvent’ named ‘LE_LOB’.
This is expected, and occurs
because the index has already been added to
improve database performance; please click the
“OK” box to dismiss the error and
complete the application of SP5. |
