Requirements	Username and Password for an account that can connect to a vCenter server and view VMware configuration. An administrator account within VMware is preferred.
Configuration	Use Monitor Devices. Select VMware. If necessary, select a Longitude Remote Agent. Enter the name of a vCenter server or VMware ESX Host in the Computers field. Enter a Username. If you are monitoring a vCenter server, enter Domain\Username Enter the Password for the Username. Enter the number of Sockets used by the hosts managed by the vCenter server, or the number of sockets on the VMware ESX host. This number should be the same as the number of sockets used to license VMware. If you are not sure of the number, enter as many as allowed by your license, and modify the property later. Click on the *Monitor* button.
Troubleshooting	VMware user login error using a good username and password: Verify the Username and Password can log in to vCenter. Verify there are no disconnected hosts in your inventory. If there are discoonnected hosts, either reconnect to the host, or remove it from inventory. Try to monitor VMware again. If you’re still unable to monitor VMware, please post to Unable to monitor VMware, error says login problem. VMware reports run very slowly: Contact Longitude support at support@heroix.com to upgrade to Longiutde 10.0. See 8.1: Error in the UI “Error retrieving collection information: Servlet execution threw exception” for details in increasing the amount of memory available to the Web UI.
