This document summarizes the data collected by Longitude for each of Longitude application. Depending on the metric, data may be evaluated against a threshold, available for reports, or both. For additional details on Longitude metrics and how they are used contact Heroix Support.

Collection Monitors for:
HighDSBindingErrors Reports high DS Binding Errors
HighDSObjectErrors Monitors the percentage of directory store objects reported as in error due to a missing distinguished name, GUID, or relative distinguished name.
HighDSSearchErrors Monitors the percentage of directory store searches which returned with an error condition.
HighFileInstallErrors Monitors the percentage of file replica set file installs which resulted in an error.
HighFRSBindingErrors Monitors the percentage of failed RPC bind attempts attributed to the file replica set.

MbxDatabaseTooBig Reports when the total size of a mailbox database is too high. This rule is not supported for Exchange 2007.
HighMessageQueue Reports high number of messages in any of the queues.
HighRPCRequests Reports high number of MAPI RPC requests presently being serviced by the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.
HighRPCLatency Reports high RPC Latency.
LowAvailableMemory Indicates the amount of physical memory (in MB) immediately available for allocation to a process or for system use
HighPoolNonPagedBytes Indicates the number of bytes in the kernel memory nonpaged pool. It is an area of system memory that must remain in physical memory as long as the objects are allocated.
HighPoolPagedBytes Indicates the number of bytes in the kernel memory paged pool. It is an area of system memory for kernel objects that can be written to disk when they are not being used.
LowFreePageTableEntries Indicates the number of system page table entries that are available. The kernel drivers use system page table entries for holding I/O and driver data in kernel memory.
HighProcessorPct Indicates the percentage of time the processor is running non-idle threads.
HighProcessorQueLen Indicates the number of threads in the processor queue. There is a single queue for processor time, even on computers with multiple processors. It shows ready threads only, not currently running threads.
HighDiskReadTime Indicates the average time (in seconds) to read data from the disk.
HighDiskWriteTime Indicates the average time (in seconds) to write data to the disk.
LowVMLargestBlock Displays the size (in bytes) of the largest free block of virtual memory.
Low16MBFreeBlocks Displays the total number of free virtual memory blocks that are greater than or equal to 16MB.
LowTotalFreeBlocks Displays the total number of free virtual memory blocks regardless of size. This is used to measure the degree to which available virtual memory is being fragmented.
LowTotalFreeBlockBytes Displays the sum in bytes of all the free virtual memory blocks that are greater than or equal to 16MB. It monitors store memory fragmentation and forms a line that slopes down when memory is consumed.
HighHeapErrors Indicates the total number of exchmem heaps that failed allocations due to insufficient available memory.
HighMemoryErrors Indicates the total number of exchmem allocations that could not satisfied by available memory.
HighNetworkPacketErrors Indicates the number of outbound packets that could not be transmitted because of errors.
HighAdditionalHeaps Indicates the total number of exchmem heaps created by store after startup.
HighPageRate Indicates the rate at which pages are read from or written to disk to resolve hard page faults. This counter is a primary indicator of the types of faults that cause system-wide delays.
ServiceNotRunning Reports when a service related to Exchange, such as MsExchangeSA or SMTPSvc, is not running.
DomainExcessMailRecvd Reports when one or more domains has received too much e-mail, measured by either messages or bytes.
DomainExcessMailSent Reports when one or more domains has sent too much e-mail, measured by either messages or bytes.
ImcExcessMailRecvd Reports when the Internet Mail Connector has received too much e-mail, measured by either messages or bytes.
ImcExcessMailSent Reports when the Internet Mail Connector has sent too much e-mail, measured by either messages or bytes.
UserExcessMailRecvd Reports when one or more users has received too much e-mail, measured by either messages or bytes.

Collection Monitors for:
DNS The DNS protocol enables you to test whether a DNS server can resolve the IP address of a fully qualified host name.
FileContent The FileContent transaction enables you to check a file for undesired content, such as an error message recorded in a log file.
FileExistence The FileExistence transaction enables you to monitor for the existence or absence of a file.
FTP The FTP protocol enables you to test whether a user can connect to an FTP server.
HTTP (HTTPConnect, HTTPUrl) The HTTP protocol enables you to test whether Longitude can connect to an HTTP site, and whether the text on a web page matches the expected content.
NNTP The NNTP protocol enables you to test whether an NNTP server is accessible.
Ping (Ping, PingCritical) The Ping protocol enables you to test for a reply from a ping – different tests are available for different levels of criticality.
Port The Port protocol enables you to test whether a connection can be made to a port.
Process (UnixProcess, WinProcess) The Process protocol enables you to test whether a particular process exists, with different tests tailored for Unix/Linux and Windows processes.
Script (UnixScript, WinScript) The UnixScript and WinScript transactions enable you to monitor the output of a script.
Service The Service protocol enables you to test whether a particular service is running.
SMTP The SMTP protocol enables you to test whether a connection can be made to an SMTP server.
SQL (SQLConnect, SQLQuery) The SQL protocol enables you to test whether a connection can be made to a SQL server, and to monitor the output of a query.
SSH / UnixConnect The SSH protocol enables you to test whether an SSH connection can be made to a server; on Unix/Linux, the test can be made for SSH or Rexec, and the connection can be made using public-key authentication, if desired.
Telnet The Telnet protocol enables you to test whether a Telnet connection can be made to a server.
WinShare The WinShare transaction enables you to test whether a Windows share exists.
WmiConnect The WmiConnect protocol enables you to test whether Longitude can connect to WMI on a computer.
