Before Installing Longitude

Antivirus Installation Advisory:

Antivirus software may interfere with the installation of the database used by the Longitude Management Console. Before installing Longitude we recommend temporarily disabling any antivirus software on the server on which you will install Longitude. After installation, the antivirus software may be enabled, but exclude the Longitude directories and processes from antivirus scans.

Heroix Longitude Server Hardware Requirements:

Minimum hardware requirements (maximum 50 managed devices)

  • Windows 2008, Windows 2012, Windows 2016, or Windows 2019
  • 2+ GHz Processor
  • 2 GB Main memory
  • 30 GB free disk space

Recommended hardware

  • Windows 2008, Windows 2012,Windows 2016, or Windows 2019
  • 2x 2+ GHz Processors
  • 6 GB Main memory
  • Less than 250 managed devices: 80 GB free disk space
  • More than 250 managed devices: 150 GB free disk space

Remote Agent recommended hardware
(maximum 250 managed devices per agent):

  • Windows 2008, Windows 2012,Windows 2016, or Windows 2019
  • 2+ GHz Processor
  • 4 GB Main memory

Software Requirements:

Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, or 2019

Domain: Longitude is designed to operate in a Windows domain.

Workgroups: Workgroup installations can be used for evaluation purposes only. After installation, you will be able to collect data only for the machine you installed Heroix Longitude on. To collect data for additional machines, consult the Troubleshooting Help.

**Longitude is not supported in IE Compatibility View. To disable compatibility view for Longitude, go to Tools >> Compatibility View Settings, and make sure the Longitude server is not in the list of sites that have been added to Compatibility View and that “Display intranet sites in Compatibility View” is not checked.
